One of the reasons which Paul wrote to the Thessalonian church was to encourage them concerning the afflictions they were experience. All faithful believers will face afflictions which will challenge their faith. In the third chapter of his letter, Paul gives at least three reasons not to give up and run when the afflictions arise!
