James and John come to Jesus with what sounds like a wonderful request! They want to be the two people closest to Jesus in His kingdom. Jesus’ answer to them is a little bit surprising. He challenges them to see why they want to be close to Him and if they really have what it takes to be that close to Him. As we begin 2025, I hope that you desire the same closeness to Jesus that James and John did but the Lord wants you to know what it is you are asking for!
