Baptism

On May 6th, it was our privilege to hold our very first baptism service.  We had two candidates for baptism – Rogelio and Tasha.  We praise the Lord for His working in their lives to bring them to this step of obedience.  God provided a place for us to hold this baptism.  We met at another church in the southern Bronx on Sunday afternoon and they graciously allowed us to use their baptistry!

While baptism does nothing to gain your access to heaven, it is a picture of what Christ has already done for you to purchase your redemption and guarantee your eternity in heaven with Him.  Water baptism pictures the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.  When someone goes through the baptism waters, it is also a declaration of their desire to crucify the old man, and to walk in newness of life.

If you have any questions regarding baptism, Pastor Ben would be happy to speak with you!

“Therefore we are buried with HIm by baptism into death: that like as Christ awas raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:4
